Mr. Rooker

asked the Secretary of State for Transport how many claims for compensation under Part 1 of the Land Compensation Act 1973 have been settled in the Great Barr and Perry Beeches areas of Birmingham; what is the total amount paid so far; how many claims are outstanding; and if he will make a statement.

2,035 claims have Peen settled and compensation of £625.800 has been paid. Claimants have been notified of the district valuer's initial assessment in respect of a further 80 claims. The one remaining claim, relating to 180 properties, is still under negotiation.
