Mr. Tom Ellis

asked the Secretary of State for Trade if he will provide the statistics of United Kingdom total exports and imports of manufactures for as much of 1978 as is available, for the corresponding period of 1977, for the calendar years 1977 and 1972, in respect of total world, the original six members of the EEC as a group, the Irish Republic, Denmark, the European Free Trade Association as its membership stood in 1972, the whole of Western Europe, the United States of America, and the Commonwealth.

Mr. Meacher

Following is the information:

safety at sea, he will seek to improve methods of communication between ship and shore in the matter of weather forecasting since present arrangements pay insufficient regard to the speed with which ships' masters and amateur yachtsmen can take in what is received and communicated.
