§ Mr. Grimondasked the Secretary of State for Employment if he will seek to co-ordinate the methods used by the various Departments in calculating distant islands allowances for groups of workers for which they are responsible.
§ Mr. Harold Walker,pursuant to his reply [Official Report, 1st August 1978], gave the following information:
Allowances paid to employees in the Scottish distant islands are a matter for the negotiating groups involved, subject to the pay guidelines.
