§ Mr. Ron Thomasasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science (1) what representations she has had from the University Grants Committee in regard to university technicians' salaries and the difficulties universities are experiencing in retaining and recruiting suitably qualified technicians;
(2) what representations she has had from the Committee of Vice-Chancellors in regard to university technicians' salaries and the difficulties universities are experiencing in retaining and recruiting suitably qualified technicians.
§ Mr. OakesThe University Grants Committee has forwarded to my Department representations on university technicians' pay made by the Universities' Committee for Non-Teaching Staffs (representing the university authorities). The Committee of Vice-Chancellors and Principals is aware of this.
