HC Deb 01 August 1978 vol 955 c213W
Mr. Brotherton

asked the Secretary of State for Employment what criteria must be satisfied before employment grants under the temporary employment scheme are made available to sporting teams and cultural organisations.

Mr. Golding

The temporary employment subsidy scheme covers all private sector employment in industry and commerce. Provided they are registered companies, these organisations are treated like any other commercial enterprise if they apply for TES to defer an impending redundancy. The conditions which have to be satisfied are set out in explanatory leaflet PL610, a copy of which is in the Library of the House.
