§ Mr. Guy BarnettThe following estimates of average annual rate bills in England and Wales in 1976 (the latest year for which detailed information is available) have been derived from the family expenditure survey. The categories all exclude households whose rate bills are met by supplementary benefit:
- (a) households with heads over pensionable age taking into account rebates actually received—£68
- (b) households with heads over pensionable age taking into account rate rebates and assuming that all those entitled to rebates receive them—£52
- (c) households with heads over pensionable age which are not in receipt of rate rebate—£85
- (d) all households not in receipt of rate rebate—£95
