asked the Secretary of State for Employment in which other European Economic Community country unemployment has risen faster than in the United Kingdom; and in which it is now at a higher level than in March 1974.

Mr. Golding

Between March 1974, and March 1978, unemployment rose at a faster rate in Belgium, Denmark, France and Luxembourg. The level of unemployment is now higher in every EEC country than it was in March 1974.
