Mr. Goodlad

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment how many acres of derelict land have been approved for reclamation in Cheshire for each year since 1974.

The acreages approved for reclamation with the aid of derelict grants are—

1976–77 66
1977–78 147
1978–79 (to date) 89

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what is the extent of derelict land in each of the districts in Cheshire; and how much is owned by public bodies expressed (a) in acres and (b) as a percentage of the total area.

Local authority returns for the 1974 survey of derelict and despoiled land, which contains the latest available information, show the extent of derelict land at 1st April 1974 to be as follows. The Survey did not include information about ownership.
