HC Deb 01 August 1978 vol 955 c239W
Mr. Raison

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what is his best estimate of the cost to public funds of supervising the export of live animals.

Mr. Strang

Our best estimate, at short notice, is that the cost to the Agriculture Departments of supervising exports of live cattle, sheep and pigs from Great Britain during the first three months of this year was in the region of £70,000.
