§ Mrs. HartI am at present considering several proposals for further aid to Indonesia. As with other developing countries, requests for assistance come forward on a continuing basis. The chief objective of our aid programme to Indonesia is to help improve the living standards of the poorest people, especially in the rural areas. As I told my hon. Friend the Member for Putney (Mr. Jenkins) on 6th March—[Vol. 945, c.496]—in planning further aid to Indonesia we shall continue to have serious regard to developments in the human rights position there.
