§ Mr. Dodsworthasked the Secretary of State for Employment if he will make a statement on his policy towards the Report of the Royal Commission on the Press in view of the intended refusal of the National Union of Journalists and the National Graphical Association to allow publication of certain articles which they consider racialist.
§ Mr. Harold WalkerI will take the recommendations of the Royal Commission fully into account in drawing up the draft charter on Press freedom as required by the Trade Union and Labour Relations (Amendment) Act 1976. The Act provides that the charter must include guidance on, amongst other matters, the avoidance of improper pressure to distort or suppress news, comment or criticism.
