§ Mr. Stanbrookasked the Minister for the Civil Service (1) if he will give the overall numbers of the Civil Service and the percentage increase or decrease in numbers for each year since 1975, respectively;
(2) if he will give the overall number of civil servants in the professional, technical and scientific grades and the percentage increase or decrease in numbers for each year since 1975, respectively;
(3) if he will give the overall numbers of civil servants in the clerical, executive and administrative grades and the percentage increase or decrease in numbers for each year since 1975, respectively.

MorrisThe numbers of staff in post in the years 1975 to 1978, in the occupational groupings involved, and the percentage changes in numbers between those years, are shown in the table below. Detailed accounts of changes in Civil Service numbers, by grade and by department, are given annually in Civil Service Statistics, copies of which are available in the Library.
