§ Mr. Maddenasked the Secretary of State for Trade what technical evaluation has been made by his Department of a range of products with overseas markets being pioneered by the Lucas Aerospace combine shop stewards' committee; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. Meacher, pursuant to his reply [Official Report, 20th April 1978; Vol. 558W 948, c. 317], gave the following information:
I cannot prejudge the outcome of any discussions between the Confederation of Shipbuilding and Engineering Unions, the combine and the company's board, but I should be ready to co-operate in any market appraisal which might facilitate those discussions.
