§ 71. Mr. Costainasked the Secretary of State for Industry how many cars have been ordered by the Hong Kong Mass Transit Railway Corporation from Metro-Cammell; and what this order represents in terms of money and employment.
§ Mr. CryerA total of 210 cars has now been ordered by the Hong Kong Mass Transit Railway Corporation from Metro-Cammell. This order is worth £75 million and will help to preserve the employment of some 1,000 people at Metro-Cammell and its sub-contractors.
