§ 67. Sir Nigel Fisherasked the Minister of Overseas Development if she will estimate the extra cost of running an extended airfield at Stanley in the Falkland Islands and the extra income which might be expected as a result of such an extension.
§ Mr. TomlinsonAny realistic estimate would require extensive studies. These would have to be based on wider experience than is at present available on the running costs of the existing airfield, which opened for traffic only six months ago.
The extra income resulting from an extension would depend almost entirely on demand generated by economic developments in the South-West Atlantic which have not yet taken place and therefore cannot be estimated now.
