HC Deb 26 April 1978 vol 948 cc600-1W
Mr. Maurice Macmillan

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if there has been an appreciable alteration in the standard of dental health amongst children in the 7 to 16 years age group over the past five years; and to what extent he estimates that any such alteration is a result of the ending of free school milk for children in the 7 to 11 age group.

Mr. Moyle

No series of national surveys has been carried out during the period in question to enable any assessment to be made of alterations in children's dental health. Even if such information were available, it would be impossible to isolate from the many factors which play a part in dental disease changes attributable to the ending of free school milk.
