HC Deb 26 April 1978 vol 948 c576W
17. Mr. Norman Atkinson

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will make a statement setting out his views in regard to the latest Turkish proposals for a settlement of the Cyprus issue.

39. Mr. Christopher Price

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what further proposals he has to bring about a settlement of the Cyprus problem.

Mr. Judd

My right hon. Friend has seen a synopsis of the proposals and numerous Press reports about them. It would, however, be premature for the British Government to comment before the Secretary-General of the United Nations has made his views known following his confidential talks with the parties and before there has been an opportunity to study the proposals in detail.
