§ Mr. Rookerasked the Secretary of State for Social Services what will be the total value during the financial year 1978–79 of the basic retirement pension of a single person and married couple.
§ Mr. OrmeI assume that my hon. Friend has in mind the total amounts of pension payable during the 12 months beginning 1st April 1978. Taking account of the proposed increase in pension rates from 13th November, the amounts will be £950 for a single person and £1,520 for a married couple.
