§ Mr. Dodsworthasked the Secretary of State for Transport (1) how many pedestrians and motorists have been injured in Maple Cross for each of the past three years and in the current year to date;
(2) how many fatal accidents there have been involving motorists and pedestrians in Maple Cross for each of the past three years and in the current year to date;
(3) if he will ensure that the departmental roads in Maple Cross are provided with adequate footpaths in view of the present level of traffic in that area;
(4) if he will make a statement indicating what investigations he has made and what proposals he has for curing the traffic problems on departmental roads currently being suffered by the residents of Maple Cross;
(5) if he will carry out and publish the results of a survey to show the current volume, noise and pollution levels of traffic on departmental roads in Maple Cross, together with his proposals for easing that level;
(6) if he will examine the current levels of traffic on departmental roads in Maple Cross with a view to rephasing the lights on the pelican crossings to allow more time for people to cross the road.
§ Mr. HoramThe roads in Maple Cross are the responsibility of Hertfordshire County Council, as highway authority.
