asked the Secretary of State for Trade if he will give the latest annual figures for the United Kingdom's trade in visibles and invisibles in both directions with China, and the comparaable figures for Hong Kong's trade with the People's Republic.

In 1977 the United Kingdom's visible exports to and imports from the People's Republic of China amounted to US $180 million and $110 million respectively.

The comparable figures for Hong Kong's exports and imports trade with the People's Republic of China was $40 million and $1,730 million. The information on invisibles is not available.
