HC Deb 24 April 1978 vol 948 c407W
Sir Bernard Braine

asked the Secretary of State for Prices and Consumer Protection whether, in the light of the difficulties likely to be caused to retail chemists by the proposed regulation to enforce the EEC cosmetics directive, he will arrange for longer transitional relief by postponing the date of implementation.

Mr. John Fraser

My Department is currently considering representations made by trade associations, manufacturers and retailers concerning the dates on which the proposed cosemtics products regulations should come into operation for different sections of the trade. Full account is being taken of the difficulties which, it is said, will arise if the dates I have had in mind are adopted.
