§ 25. Mr. Buchananasked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he is now in a 150W position to make a statement on the reconstitution of the salaries negotiating machinery for Scottish teachers recommended by the Committee of Inquiry into the Pay of Non-University Teachers (Command Paper No. 5848) published December 1974.
§ Mr. McElhoneIt remains the Government's firm intention to introduce legislation to establish new negotiating machinery on the general lines recommended by the Houghton Committee, but it will not be practicable to enact this legislation in the current Session.
