HC Deb 19 April 1978 vol 948 c166W
Mr. Peter Bottomley

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what has been the initial cost of installing net curtains in all Government offices in Greater London; and what is the estimated cost of maintaining these window dressings in terms of laundry, replacement, &c., in a financial year.

Mr. Marks

Special net curtains designed to stop flying glass and debris have been installed in Government offices as a protection against bomb blasts. The cost to date of installing these curtains in offices in Greater London is about £1.350 million.

The cost of maintenance will be approximately £0.1 million per year.
