§ 20. Mr. Gouldasked the Secretary of State for Prices and Consumer Protection if he will make regulations under the Consumer Credit Act to ensure that when a consumer pays off a debt or mortgage before the due date he receives a fair reduction in interest charges.
§ Mr. John FraserI expect to make regulations on rebates for early settlement after consulting the credit industry and consumer organisations. A consultation document will be issued within the next two or three months.
