§ Mr. Maddenasked the Secretary of State for Employment when it is proposed to absorb the Agricultural Safety Inspectorate into the reorganised areas of the Factory Inspectorate by making agriculture one of the industry groups within each area.
§ Mr. John GrantThe Agricultural Inspectorate has been transferred into the Health and Safety Executive and reorganised largely on the basis of the area offices of the Executive but without representation in certain offices covering mainly urban areas. Some offices have been set up in rural areas specially for the Agricultural Inspectorate.
Industry groups have been set up on a national basis and the functions of such a group for agriculture are performed by the agricultural policy branch of the Executive.
