HC Deb 14 April 1978 vol 947 cc566-7W
Mr. Patrick Jenkin

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he is satisfied with the response to the Government's recent vaccination information campaign; if he has any plans to take further measures to encourage take-up; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Ennals

I am satisfied with the response from the Press, health authorities and the medical profession. Most of the leaflets and all the posters printed have been taken up. So far as the public are concerned, since the objective was to convey information about benefits and possible risks, it will not be possible to measure the degree of success specifically; but the rate of uptake of vaccination during the year will be published in due course in "Health and Personal Social Services Statistics" for 1978. I have no further measures in mind at the present time.
