§ Mr. Knoxasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science how many schemes submitted by local education authorities for the reorganisation of education, other than those exclusively concerned with the reorganisation of secondary education, have been approved, and how many have been rejected, in each of the past eight years.

§ Mr. Ashtonasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science whether she is yet in a position to announce her decision on the inquiry into the proposed re- 540W organisation of secondary education in the Retford, Nottinghamshire area.
§ Miss Margaret JacksonMy right hon. Friend has decided not to approve the proposals made under Section 13 of the Education Act 1944 by the Nottinghamshire local education authority to reorganise secondary education in the Retford area on the basis of 11 to 18 schools. She now expects the authority to implement the previously approved proposals for reorganisation in September 1978 on the basis of 5 to 9, 9 to 13 and 13 to 18 schools.
