HC Deb 14 April 1978 vol 947 c564W
Mr. Lomas

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will list in the Official Report those area health authorities which have decided that water supplies should be fluoridated in the interests of dental health.

Mr. Moyle

With the exceptions of Barnsley, Isle of Wight, North Tyneside, Wirral and Wolverhampton, all 90 area health authorities in England have now decided in favour of this valuable preventive health measure. My right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for the Environment has encouraged water authorities to comply with such requests from area health authorities.
