HC Deb 14 April 1978 vol 947 cc578-9W
Mr. Stoddart

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will state the total child tax allowances which would be received for the current tax year in respect of two children, one aged 11 years and one aged under eleven years, assuming that child tax allowances had been increased since March 1976 by the same percentage as the single persons tax allowance and the child benefit scheme had not been introduced.

Mr. Robert Sheldon

The allowances would total £752, on the basis of the single person's allowance proposed in the Budget Statement for 1978–79.
