HC Deb 13 April 1978 vol 947 cc470-1W
Mr. Neubert

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Departent whether he will introduce measures to discontinue the use of the London Borough prefix in descriptions of parliamentary constituencies within Greater London; and, to avoid confusion, to allow the hon. Members for Romford, Upminster and Horn-church, respectively, to be described as such in official proceedings and printed documents.

Mr. Merlyn Rees

It will be open to the Parliamentary Boundary Commission for England to recommend new names for constituencies in London and elsewhere as part of its current general review. The form of constituency name used in the official proceedings and printed documents of the House is a matter for the House authorities.
