HC Deb 13 April 1978 vol 947 c470W
Mr. Lee

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what instructions he has given to the immigration authorities to prevent any successful reentry into the United Kingdom of David Duke of the Ku Klux Klan.

Mr. Merlyn Rees

I have given a personal direction under the Immigration Act 1971 that Mr. Duke should be refused to leave or to enter, if he attempts to return to the United Kingdom, on the ground that his exclusion would be conducive to the public good.
