HC Deb 13 April 1978 vol 947 c538W
Mr. Trotter

asked the Secretary of State for Defence how many infantry battalions normally served at any one time in the Guards Division of the British Army of the Rhine in the last 20 years; how many of them were normally Guards battalions; how many Guards battalions were serving in the division when it ceased to be known as the Guards Division; and how many Guards battalions are currently serving in the British Army of the Rhine.

Mr. Robert C. Brown

There has been no Guards Division of the British Army of the Rhine since 1947. Two guards battalions are currently serving in BAOR.
