Mr. Geraint Howells

asked the Secretary of State for Wales what proportion of those currently unemployed in Dyfed are under 25 years of age; what were the corresponding figures for 1975 and 1976; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Alec Jones

The latest information relates to 12th January 1978, when the proportion was 38.5 per cent. The corresponding proportion for January 1977 was 38.3 per cent. and for January 1976, 37.4 per cent. Figures for January 1975 are not available.

The latest information relates to 12th January 1978, when the proportion was 35.7 per cent. The corresponding proportion for January 1977 was 36.7 per cent. and for January 1976, 37.6 per cent. Figures are not available for 1975.
