§ Mr. Viggersasked the Secretary of State for Transport what is his estimate of the cost of (a) additional printing and (b) the special unit being set up at Swansea to receive applications for repayment of duty, following the need to repay excise duty to people misled by the renewal form issued by the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Centre at the time of the Budget in spring 1977.
§ Mr. William Rodgers£5,000 has been spent on printing. I cannot at this stage make a helpful estimate of the cost of the special unit: that will depend upon how long it has to be kept in being, which in turn will depend on the number of claims received for processing by 28th April, the closing date.
