HC Deb 11 April 1978 vol 947 c357W
Mr. Faulds

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment whether, as the owner of Chiswick House, he will make known to the London borough of Hounslow the availability of grant to restore the garden of Chiswick House, which it owns, so that it can be properly repaired, replanted and restored as an aspect of the Palladian experience and an essential adjunct to Chiswick House itself.

Mr. Shore

Local authorities were informed in circular 23/77 of 16th March 1977 that grant may now be made available on the recommendation of the Historic Buildings Council towards the repair of historic gardens of outstanding importance.
