HC Deb 10 April 1978 vol 947 c297W
Lord James Douglas-Hamilton

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he plans to make available a fund of approximately £21 million for the improvement of tenement property in Scotland; if so, what sums have been allocated to each region and district in Scotland; and what criteria he has used in making this allocation.

Mr. Hugh D. Brown

Capital expenditure in Scotland on grants to private persons and investment by public authorities on the improvement of houses—including tenements—is now of the order of £100 million annually. I am not clear precisely what point the hon. Member has in mind, but if he cares to write to me I shall be glad to look at it.
