HC Deb 10 April 1978 vol 947 c299W
Mr. Kilfedder

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland how many wholesalers have been prosecuted in the last full year for supplying alcoholic drinks to illegal drinking clubs; how much each has been fined; and what steps he is taking to prevent the supply of alcoholic drinks to illegal clubs.

Mr. Dunn

During 1977 five prosecutions were brought against wholesalers for supplying alcoholic drinks to illegal drinking clubs. Fines ranged between £40 and £20. There was one conditional discharge. The enforcement of the law relating to the supply and consumption of alcohol is an operational matter for the Chief Constable.
