HC Deb 10 April 1978 vol 947 cc314-5W
Mr. McCrindle

asked the Secretary of State for Industry if discussions are taking place with the French authorities on the concept of a liquid hydrogen-fuelled aircraft as a successor to Concorde; if any research is taking place into such a project; and if discussions on the matter with Lockheed are contemplated.

Mr. Les Huckfield

The Government and British Aerospace are agreed that the knowledge and experience gained on Concorde should be consolidated but that our first task must be to establish our priorities in the subsonic field. No Government support is at present being given to any programme of research into the type of project referred to.
