asked the Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food when he last discussed fishing matters with his EEC colleagues; and if he will make a statement.

Fishing matters were last discussed at a meeting of the Council of Fisheries Ministers in Luxembourg on 3rd April 1978.

At this meeting the Council agreed to extend until 30th April the interim fishing arrangements with Norway, Sweden and the Faroe Islands. The Council also agreed to meet again on 24th April to resume the discussions on a revised internal fisheries policy as well as the third country arrangements.
