§ 25. Mr. Adleyasked the Secretary of State for Transport when he expects to receive from the National Bus Company its proposals on a concessionary fare scheme for pensioners based on its national network.
§ Mr. HoramThe National Bus Company aims to introduce commercially-based off-peak fare schemes for pensioners in areas where there is no local authority scheme of concessionary fares. Even if they prove to be successful, these NBC schemes are no substitute for a local authority scheme which meets half the cost of local bus fares as recommended in our recent circular.
