§ Mr. Gristasked the Secretary of State for Social Services, with regard to the Government's decision in "Prevention and Health" (Command Paper No. 7047), to keep an open mind on the question of a total ban on cigarette advertising, from what sources he expects further evidence to become available to help the Government reach a decision.
§ Mr. Moyle, pursuant to his reply [Official Report, 23rd March 1978; Vol. 946, c. 717], supplied the following information:
We are examining existing evidence and considering what further evidence is likely to become available during the currency of the present voluntary agreement and its likely usefulness; and whether any fresh investigation is called for. In forming our views on this matter we shall take due note of any evaluation of restrictions placed on cigarette advertising in other countries.
