asked the Minister of Overseas Development what contributions have been made to the World Food Programme in each of the last five years.

Britain Contributes directly to the World Food Programme through its biennial pledges committeed in the form of commodities and cash.

In addition, 30 per Cent. to 40 per cent. of British bilateral action in cereals`food aid under the Food Aid Convention is channelled through the World Food Programme. The Government also pay their full share of cereals and dairy products aid given to the programme by the European Economic Community.

The value of all this aid for each of the last five years is shown below.

Department has spent on advertisements in Labour Weekly in each year since 1972.
