Mr. Pavitt

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will publish in the Official Report a table including each regional health authority showing the areas in which there are vacancies in the National Health Service for nurses.

Information about National Health Service vacancies for nurses is not available centrally. Some are, however, notified to local offices of the Employment Service Agency and the latest—December 1977—figures of notified vacancies, which include vacancies outside the National Health Service, were:
