§ Mr. Maddenasked the Secretary of State for Transport when he expects to receive the report of the inquiry into motorway service facilities ; how many service areas have been visited during the day and night respectively ; and what inspection has been made of facilities, including accommodation, and charges, to drivers of commercial vehicles.
§ Mr. HoramMy right hon. Friends have asked the committee to report by the end of June and the chairman has informed them that he confidently expects to meet this date. The committee's terms of reference include the investigation of the quality and cost of all service area facilities including those for drivers of commercial vehicles, and I understand that it is its intention to reinforce the evidence that it receives on these topics with numerous site inspections.
