HC Deb 03 April 1978 vol 947 cc68-9W
13. Mr. Grist

asked the Secretary of State for Wales what steps his Department proposes to take to encourage new manufacturing industries to come to the city of Cardiff.

Mr. John Morris

My Department is already making every effort to attract new industries to Cardiff, in full consultation with the local authorities. The immediate need is to accelerate the preparation of industrial sites and advance factories in Cardiff; this calls for additional expenditure in 1978–79 and as a first step I have allocated an extra £4 million to the Welsh Development Agency for this purpose.
