HC Deb 03 April 1978 vol 947 c51W
Mr. Brotherton

asked the Secretary of State for Employment what savings in staff will follow from the disappearance of the Employment Service Agency and the Training Services Agency after 1st April.

Mr. John Grant

I am informed by the Manpower Services Commission that on 1st April 1978 the Employment Service Agency and the Training Services Agency were combined with the Commission to form a single manpower services organisation. The services provided by the two agencies will continue to be provided by operating divisions of the Commission. No direct staff savings therefore arise but savings should eventually be achieved from the planned rationalisation of head office support services within the single organisation.
