§ Mr. Hooleyasked the Secretary of State for Industry whether he is satisfied that the current activities of British Leyland in South Africa conform with the recently negotiated draft EEC code of practice.
§ Mr. Les HuckfieldThe implementation of the code of conduct is still being discussed with the TUC and the CBI. As soon as these discussions have been completed, my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Trade will commend the code to all British companies, including6W British Leyland, with interests in South Africa. We shall expect British Leyland to observe it along with other British companies concerned.
British Leyland has announced that it is reviewing its overseas activities, including those in South Africa.
