HC Deb 26 October 1977 vol 936 cc872-3W
Mr. David Mitchell

asked the Secretary of State for Employment what has been the outcome of his consideration of the problems in redefining the difference between peaceful picketing and intimidation; and whether he will make a statement.

Mr. Booth:

As I said in my answer to the hon. Member for Cleveland and Whitby (Mr. Brittan) on 12th July, I intend to consult those primarily concerned to see whether improvements to the law can be proposed. The Government are still considering the basis on which consultations about the complex question should be held.

Mr. Rooker

asked the Secretary of State for Employment if he will make a statement on his consultations on the law relating to picketing started during the summer.

Mr. Booth:

The Government is still considering the basis on which consultations about this complex question should be held.
