HC Deb 26 October 1977 vol 936 c719W
Mr. Lomas

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services in what Session of Parliament he intends to introduce legislation amending the National Health Service Acts.

Mr. Moyle

The National Health Service Act 1977 consolidated previous Acts relating to the National Health Service: we have no plans at present for amending legislation.

Mr. Lomas

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services whether the Government intend to introduce legislation to charge patients when they visit their general practitioners or when they are in hospital; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Moyle

As I have said on previous occasions the Government have no plans for new charges to NHS patients when they visit general practitioners or when they are in hospital.
