Mr. Ashley

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what estimate he has made of the number of recipients of mobility allowance where blindness, coupled with some other disability directly related to actual walking ability, tipped the scales in their favour.

Mr. Alfred Morris:

I regret that I am unable to make such an estimate. We maintain mobility statistics relating to relevant physical disablement only under broad headings which correspond generally to sections of the International Classification of Diseases.
